Mobile cable unwinding machine from racks - MORA 14

Scope of application

A compact, free-standing and mobile device, mounted on running wheels equipped with mechanical brakes. The device is designed to unwind the required length of electrical, optical cables or other similar materials from drums hung on specialized racks and stands and wind them onto drums with a weight up to 1T/2,5T or, using the special head, into free coils.

More

The winding machine allows us to program the cable length during operation. When the unwound cable runs out prematurely, the device stops automatically. Owing to the use of precise, automatic cable laying device synchronized with rotational motion, overload protection, optical indication of operation, highly advanced automation control unit with microprocessor system for synchronization of winding and cable laying movements, as well as constant supervision of cable presence in measuring wheel, it is possible to operate the winding machines without constant, direct supervision. The device is characterized by an easy, intuitive operation and a compact and robust design, making it very durable and reliable. No human effort is needed for handling the device. Workload is significantly reduced and thus health and safety conditions at work are improved.

Construction and principle of operation

A welded structure, made of steel sections, powder painted in RAL 5017. It consists of two main modules: support frame with cable reception unit, equipped with an electromechanical system for clamping and lifting the reels as well as an automatic cable laying device. The support frame is mounted on running wheels with high bearing capacity, equipped with mechanical brakes ensuring maximum stability during operation. The frame supports complete electrical and electromechanical systems powering the reception unit and a control cabinet with operator panel. The reception unit is a two-armed claw chuck, with one fixed and one sliding arm, driven electromechanically. The drum is clamped axially in the chuck by means of centering claws and lifted up. Electromechanical/electrohydraulic drive for clamping and lifting the drum is controlled from the operator panel. The reception unit is equipped with an induction electric motor that transmits drive to the driving claw by means of bevel gear reducer, then by a flexible driver pin to the drum on which cable is wound. The motor is controlled from the operator panel, through a frequency inverter, supported by a microprocessor-based PLC. The frequency inverter provides motor overload protection. Automatic cable laying unit with length measurement is composed of a trolley with guide roller unit and a measuring wheel, moving in parallel to the drum axes on the linear bearings. The cable laying device is driven by an electric stepper motor. The drive is transmitted by means of a toothed belt. The device performs bidirectional, linear movement, within drum width limits programmed with aid of a laser pointer.
The motor of laying device is also controlled by microprocessor-based PLC which, besides overload protection, ensures smooth setting of linear speed synchronized with rotational speed of rewound cable. Electromechanical system for clamping and lifting reels is composed of a system of linear guides and induction electric motors connected with lead screws. Additionally, the reel clamping unit is equipped with an automatic system that prevents gripping of reels with excessive force, which could lead to their destruction. PLC acts as a counter and a programmer that allows us to set a reference rewinding length. If the unwinding reel is running out of cable, or the rewinding process stops, or the machine is overloaded and fails, then the automation control unit stops the device and indicates visually the operation stop or failure. The applied electrical overload protection, simple and stable mechanical structure, powder coatings and high quality workmanship ensure long-term use in production conditions.
