Mobile cable winding machine with drumlifting system - MORA 1

Scope of application

The mobile devices, mounted on mechanically braked running wheels, designed to wind cables and electrical, optical wires or other similar materials delivered on wooden or plastic drums to a cutting or winding machine. The devices are equipped with electromechanical system designed for lifting and lowering the cable reels that allows for loading and unloading of the drums without the need to lift them manually.

Owing to the use of cable laying device synchronized with rotational motion of the bearing shaft, overload protection and an advanced automation control unit, it is possible to rewind cables and wires without the need of continuous, direct supervision. The machine can be equipped with pneumatic cutting guillotine, it improves and guarantees the cut collapsed section exactly at the specifed length. The device is characterized by a simple, intuitive operation and a compact and stable structure, making it very durable and reliable.

Construction and principle of operation

A welded structure, made of steel profiles, on the running wheels, powder coated in RAL 5017. The winding unit is driven by an electric motor, whose torque is transmitted to the operating shaft via a bevel gear reducer, and further to the cable reel by means of a quick-acting lock that couples the shaft with the drum. The motor is controlled by a frequency inverter, while winding – by a foot button or remote controller (Mora 1 and Mora 1.1) or for the version Mora 1.2 – the motor is controlled from the operator panel, supported by a microprocessor-based PLC. The frequency inverter provides motor overload protection. In Mora 1.2 version, automatic cable laying device with length measurement is composed of a trolley and a measuring wheel moving in a parallel to the drum axes. The device is driven by a stepper motor via a top rated toothed belt. The laying device performs bidirectional, linear movement, within the drum width limits adjustable by magnetic limits switches. The motor of cable laying device is also controlled via microprocessor-based PLC that besides overload protection, ensures smooth setting of linear speed synchronized with rotational speed of rewound cable, depending on its outer diameter. PLC acts as a counter and programmer that allows us to set a reference winding length. MORA 1.1 is standard equipped with a manual cable laying device and mechanical counter with reset function. The running wheels fixed to the device enable insertion of the operating shaft into the drum hole and, with the aid of the electromechanical system, lifting of the drum to prepare it for the winding process. The system for lifting the cable reels is driven by an electric induction motor, cooperating with bevel gear reducer and the feed screw. All the movement functions of the device are controlled directly from the control panel. the control unit of the device provides the opportunity to program the dynamics of start and stop of rotational motion. The applied electrical overload protection devices, simple and stable mechanical structure, powder coatings and high quality workmanship ensure long-term use in production conditions.
